Peer Support Groups

Sharing our experiences to feel stronger on the road ahead

Groups like the ADHD Support, SEN Parent, and Adult Adoptee are a relaxed, non-judgemental space where people come together to share, listen, and support one another through life’s shared experiences. It’s not therapy or advice-giving, but a space for connection, understanding, and mutual respect. You don’t need to have any prior experience (or be spiritual)—just a willingness to show up as you are. Each gathering is inclusive, gently guided, and shaped by the people in the room.

These groups remind us that we don’t have to carry things alone. Together, we create space to slow down, listen to the quiet truths within—our needs, hopes, boundaries, emotions, and desires. With gentle and short practices that regulate the nervous system and ease emotional weight, we create room for openness, expression, and connection.

In listening to others, we find shared understanding; in being witnessed, we feel less alone. Over time, we begin to move forward—with greater clarity, confidence, and care. Most of all, we rediscover real connection: to ourselves, to each other, and to the lives we’re living.

  • Each session may include gentle grounding practices, sharing our experiences and listening, themed discussions (like relationships, communication, tracing, parenting, executive function, or emotional overwhelm), and practical tools. Some sessions may also include optional breathwork, sound healing, or creative activities tailored for who is in the room.

  • ADHD Adults

This group is for adults living with ADHD—diagnosed, self-identifying or curious—who are seeking a supportive, non-judgmental space to connect, share, and grow. We have created this group to support each other in navigating the unique challenges (and strengths!) of ADHD in everyday life.

    SEN Parent

Raising a child with special educational needs can be both deeply rewarding and incredibly challenging. This group is a calm and supportive space for parents and carers to come together, share experiences, be heard and find comfort in understanding among others who truly get it. This is not a place for competition.

Whether you’re navigating school systems, balancing family life, or simply looking for a place to exhale, you’ll find compassion and community here.

Our gatherings offer time for connection, gentle reflection, and mutual encouragement. You don’t need to have everything figured out — just come as you are. This group is for parents and carers of children with a wide range of needs and diagnoses, and you are warmly welcomed no matter where you are on your journey.

    Adult Adoptee

Adoption can shape our lives in many different ways, and the experiences it brings are often complex and unique. This group offers a supportive and understanding space for adult adoptees to come together, share stories, and connect with others who have walked a similar path.

Whether you are exploring identity, relationships, belonging, or simply wish to be in the company of people who “get it,” you are welcome here. Our gatherings provide time for open conversation, gentle reflection, and mutual support in a safe, compassionate environment.

This group is for any adult adoptee, whatever your background or stage of life. You don’t need to have the “right” words or any particular experience to join — just a willingness to be present and connect.

  • No pressure at all. You’re welcome to just listen if that’s what feels right for you. Sharing is always optional, and we honour each person’s pace and energy levels.

  • No, this is a peer support group, not group therapy. While it may feel therapeutic, it's not a substitute for professional mental health support. We do our best to hold a compassionate space, and we can signpost you to other services if needed.

  • We are currently starting a waiting list for peer support groups to ensure we have enough people to create the groups.

Once we have enough names we plan to meet every 6-8 weeks, in person at Cedar House Retreat. Get your name on the list by clicking the button below. Then check our website or social media for upcoming dates.

  • We kindly ask that the space remains adult-only to ensure everyone can relax and focus. However, we are exploring future options for family-friendly support, so feel free to ask or express interest.

  • Yes, its £10 per session if booked in a group of 6 or £15 drop in. We aim to keep this space financially accessible. If cost is a barrier, please reach out.
